In Yasmina Reza's play, Art, the relationship between three friends is turned on its head when one of them purchases a work of modern art. The play, which has won both the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Comedy, is presented in an adaptation by Christopher Hampton, well known for Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

The smash hit comedy Art at the Whitehall Theatre has announced it will be closing after a run of over six years.

The final performance of Art will be performed on the 4th January 2003.

From 14 October 2002: Mark Galiss as 'Serge', Steve Pemberton 'Marc' and Reece Shearsmith 'Yvan' – all famous from the television series The League of Gentlemen.

Art has been a phenomenal success in London, celebrating its 2,400th performance on 4 March 2002. However, fans of French playwright Yasmina Reza’s need not despair, tickets can also be booked for LifeX3 which makes a welcome return to the West End.
